Mornington Railway Reserve AGM and Balcombe and Moorooduc Landcare Working BeeAGM
17 November @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
FreeJoin Balcombe and Moorooduc Landcare members for their final working bee for this year.
After an introduction by Mornington Rail Reserve Group president Charlie Clarke and hearing the Group’s vision and challenges ahead, we will be helping with weed control work, along the Padua College section of the rail reserve.
As well as learning some tricky weed control methods, it will also be an opportunity with Rail Reserve members to identify the range of beautiful native orchids, grasses and other groundcovers still surviving there.
Park and meet at the end of Diamond Court, off Exford Drive in the Padua Estate, Mornington. There will be a range of weeds needing various controls including cut and painting gorse, mirror bush and pittosporum, and dealing with watsonia. Dan will be demonstrating the most suitable control method for each weed type.
Start time is 10 am and go through to 12 pm followed by some drinks and nibbles.
It will also be an opportunity for your thoughts towards ideas for events for next year.
