South West Mornington Peninsula Landcare

“Informing, educating and inspiring our local community on environmental, conservation, heritage, cultural, indigenous and best practice sustainable land management issues.”

Southwest Mornington Peninsula Landcare Group (SWaMP Landcare) covers the southern peninsula from McCrae across to Cape Schanck and down to Point Nepean. The group has delivered a host of successful projects in recent years, including ‘Protect & Connect’ Stages 1 – 3 in the Peninsula Gardens region of Rosebud,  ‘Moonah Woodland Restoration’ in Fingal and Grassy Bowl Restoration works at London Bridge/Pt. Nepean.

We are currently involved in helping create the Greens Bush N.P. to Arthur’s Seat Biolink as well as the Murray Anderson Creek Headwaters Biolink whilst continuing to perform annual Autumn and Spring fox pulses in the Drum Drum Alloc Valley to ameliorate predation on our unique indigenous taxa.

SWaMP Landcare continues to work closely and offer support to a number of environmental groups on the southern peninsula including Westernport Feral Alliance, Mornington Peninsula Wildlife Action Group, Indian Myna Action Group and Blairgowrie and Sorrento Friends Groups.

SWaMP Landcare is a strong and active group, with more than 100 active member families. Our volunteers are dedicated and passionate with strong local knowledge about sustainable land management and bushland restoration.
