SUMMARY:Farm Revegetation for Biodiversity\, Productivity and Climate resilience
DESCRIPTION:Landcare\, with support from Mornington Peninsula Shire\, DELWP\, and private donations\, is working with the Grow Corp Foundation to develop a demonstration “Whole of Farm” approach to revegetation on private property. This approach integrates shelterbelts\, riparian corridors\, and selective bush patches in a manner that: enhances the environment through improved biodiversity\, protects water quality\, and contributes to the major biolink between Greens Bush and Arthurs Seat. Direct farm benefits include improved productivity and climate resiliency. \nThe revegetation stage is nearing completion and we are conducting a session of short talks\, discussions\, and tours of the revegetated areas to outline the process and answer questions on the benefits. \nSpeakers: \n\nClayton Fenech\, Mornington Peninsula Shire – Biodiversity\nChantal Morton\, Landcare Facilitator – Biolinks\nGrow Corp Foundation – Owners Perspective\nGreg Holland\, Main Creek Catchment Landcare – Whole of Farm Planning and Climate Resilience.\n\nTalks and discussion 1000-1130am\, then a farm tour followed by a light lunch and continued informal discussions. \nFree event.
