DESCRIPTION:Our first B & M Landcare Activity for 2023 is planned for my place in Mt Martha in 4 weeks’ time on Sunday morning 23rd April at 10 am to 12.30 pm.   This will be followed by a free BBQ if you can stay on for a bit longer. \nLeeanne and I started off here in Century Dr\, Mt Martha 25 years ago with a completely bare and flat 5-acre block.  We have slowly transformed this into natural looking indigenous bushland\, with a large wetland\, native wildlife\, and various outdoors projects. \nI’m looking forward to showing you around and covering any queries related to striving for a more sustainable lifestyle.  Of interest may be our passive-solar mudbrick home\, various huts/workshops/abodes\, large enclosed orchard\, compost making process\, vegetable patch with wicking gardens\, waste vegetable oil processing plant (for the car)\, hot house\, Hipcamp set up with silo dunny\, large worm farm\, a new apartment on the house\, veggie garden studio\,  biochar making\, farm animal/grazing system\, numerous pets and plans ahead for a big wildlife compatible barn. DESCRIPTION:The MPLN is hosting their AGM  Wednesday 23rd November. To make sure that the Network is truly representative of its 13 member groups\, we would like to see at least one representative on the MPLN general committee. \nThe Network is also seeking help to fill some specific roles such as social media liaison\, secretary and minutes secretary. If a member of your Landcare group has a passion to contribute across the whole of the Mornington Peninsula  and help all our Landcare groups\, please make them aware of the coming AGM and complete their Nomination. \nThe meeting will start @ 5.30pm with a short walk over part of the “Uncommon Folk” property to see some of the work that Landcare has contributed toward. The AGM will start @ 6.00pm and should be completed by 7.30pm. DESCRIPTION:Our next B&M Landcare Activity is a farm visit and working bee on Sunday morning 20th November 10 am to 1.30pm. \nWe will be guests on a beautiful 120-acre property in the hills just South of the Briars at 105 Range Rd\, Mt Martha. \nThe owners\, Barry and Lynne Fitzpatrick\, are keen to restore parts of the original natural environment there.
