DESCRIPTION:Join us on National Tree Day to improve koala habitat in The Briars\, a beautiful conservation park in Mount Martha \n\n\n\n\nSpend the morning of NATIONAL TREE DAY with us planting hundreds of koala food trees and other native trees and shrubs to expand koala habitat in The Briars\, a beautiful conservation park in Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula. \nHabitat loss is the leading threat to koalas and other wildlife—so let’s take action together! \nThis is a fantastic opportunity to learn about our local environment and wildlife\, including koalas\, while making a real difference in restoring their habitat. \nIMPORTANT INFORMATION:\n☕ We’ll take a break for morning tea\, with coffee\, tea\, Milo\, and biscuits provided. \n👖 Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (preferably waterproof) as we’ll be walking through bushland and grassy areas. \n🧤 Bring your own hat\, gardening gloves\, water\, and snacks. DESCRIPTION:In place of our regular last Sunday of the Month working bee\, Blairgowrie Friends of Mornington Peninsula National Park (BFMP) have accepted the kind offer of our iconic local ecologist (and good friend) Gidja Walker OAM to have a learning event about the trees of the Nepean Peninsula. \nOur Nepean Peninsula Trees event will be held from 11:30am – 1pm in Point Nepean National Park. Lots of parking is available just inside the entrance to the Park to the left and we will meet here (Google Maps)\, only a very short walk from the entrance carpark. \nPlease let us BFMP know if you (or others) will attend by emailing BFMP at:bfmpnpmail@gmail.com so that BPMP can cater for the right number of Friends. Places will be limited so please let them know as soon as you can. \n
