SUMMARY:Birds on Farms - Mysteries and Marvels of Mistletoe
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an online session that explores the surprising role of mistletoe in Australian ecosystems. Often seen as a pest\, mistletoe actually supports a wide range of wildlife and plays an important part in woodland health\, especially for native birds. \nThe webinar features two expert speakers. Dr David Watson is an ecologist who has spent over 20 years studying mistletoe and its relationships with woodland species. His work has helped shift perceptions of mistletoe from an unwanted parasite to a key player in biodiversity. Kristy Peters leads the ‘Restoring Mistletoe on Wonnarua Country’ project\, working with landholders to restore habitat for the critically endangered Regent Honeyeater. She is actively involved in reintroducing mistletoe to key habitats in the Hunter Valley\, providing important food and shelter for woodland birds. \nThis free webinar is open to anyone interested in native plants\, wildlife\, and conservation\, no matter where you live.
